Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I know if I am eligible for training support and how long does it take to get approved?
Call or visit the OhioMeansJob Center to talk with a workforce professional. They can discuss the various training options and eligibility requirements. Please allow 4-6 weeks for training to be approved. This is dependent on receiving all the required documentation from you and the training institution.
2. What types of training support are available to employers?
Greater Cleveland Works offers a number of different training options for employers, including training to upskill existing employees, on-the-job-training for new hires and customized training options, too. Tell us more about your needs by filling in the form above and we can determine the best training option for your organization.
3. How do I become an approved training provider?
Greater Cleveland Works accepts applications from organizations looking to become an approved training provider in the spring of each year. For an application to be considered by Greater Cleveland Works, the training provider must be registered on the state of Ohio’s eligible training provider list, Workforce Inventory of Education and Training (WIET). Please visit wiet.ohio.gov to begin this process. Registration with the state of Ohio does not automatically enable you to obtain training funds from Greater Cleveland Works. Interested providers must then submit a completed application to Greater Cleveland Works during the application cycle. Contact Deshaun Matthews, deshaun.matthews@jfs.ohio.gov, for more information.
